Kyaikhtiyoe(Holy Golden Rock) Pagoda
A gigantic boulder is precariously perching on
the extreme edge of sloping cliff by no support of any agent. Just
witness by your naked eyes. The advantages are, of course,
soft-trekking through the rain forests, herbal medicinal plants and
beautiful natural land scape.

Thaton
Mon architecture and the earlier lithic inscriptions can be
collectively studied at Shwesaryan Pagoda and its environs
in Thaton, one of Mon ancient cities.

Kawgoon Cave
Some natural caves in Mon region have their interior walls
embellished with thousands of figures in Buddhism, Hindu and
so on. Among them, Kawgoon cave is the fullest one and known
for its architectural carvings.

Mawlamine
Rudyard Kipling composed a famous poem “Road to Mandalay" on the
beautiful natural scenery of Mawlamine, truly not Mandalay.
It is located on the river bank of Thanlwin, just across Mottama (
Martaban formerly). It is the capital of Mon State and the third
largest city of Myanmar.
The city and its environs have reputated as the centre of rubber
(white gold), and tropical monsoon fruits of durian, mangosteen,
rambutan, jack fruit and so on. The Edwardian villas and some
visiting spots are enjoyable.
The most interests are its orchards and river-life. Mr. F Kingdom
Ward, a world famous botanist collected some rare orchid species
from Mawlamine Forests.

Kyaikthanlan
Western architecture and the oriental ways of life can be leisurely
enjoyed.

Seindon Monastery
Once of the queens of King Mindon, Queen Seindon left Mandalay for
Mawlamine. To cure her home-sick of Yatanabon Mandalay and the
Myanansankyaw Palace, she built a monastery in simulation of spiral
building and a throne.

Judson Church
It is much earlier than Judson Church at Yangon University and was
so built to commemorate Mr. Judson who came to Myanmar in the early
19th century and wrote some books, including Judson Dictionary.

Kyaikmainaraw Payagyi
It is actually a large Buddha-image in sitting position built in the
15th century by Queen Shinsawpu, the grand donor of Shwedagon in
Yangon. Gardening of fruits should also be dropped.
Myoma market and Dawei jetty in Mawlamine, rubber plantations and a
gigantic reclining Buddha, the biggest of its kind in Myanmar after
completion, known as Win Sein ascetic compound in Mudon, some 18
miles to the south of Mawlamine, Chaungsone and Ywalut villages of
Belu Island should be added if leisure.

Thanbyuzayat
In connection with the flim, "The Bridge on the River Kwai", the
town is being visited for war cemetery and site-museum to
commemorate the railway built to link Thanbyuzayat of Myanmar and
Thailand via Payathonzu pass by the labour of different ethnic
groups in 1942-45.

Mudon
On the way to Mawlamine, Mudon is a town noted for the world's
largest Buddha image now under construction with artistic works,
model agricultural garden, royal lake and Kyauktalone Pagoda.
